The second phase picnic pavilion is
installed and is a great hit for parties. It looks similar to this one. RHNA donated
$6,700 dollars and the City matched with $5,200 to fund the pavilion and four picnic
tables.

Third Phase
The City planted twenty-seven new trees February
2004. RHNA volunteers are watering the trees for the next three years. If you
would like to volunteer to water the trees see the associated story on the front page.
RHNA also paid to extend irrigation lines to the new trees to make it easier to
water them.

Fourth Phase
The City replaced the old asphalt
parking lot with an excellent concrete parking lot. They also installed
post-and-cabling around the parking lot to prevent driving through the park.
Future Improvements?
Install a multi surface court next
to the Pavilion?
Build a sidewalk or walking trail
around the periphery of the park?
Old Ridglea
Hills Park
This is what the old equipment looked like.
Thanks to $130,000 in new City equipment and $4,600 in RHNA member and commercial
donations we have an entirely new playground.
Old Ridglea Hills Park, old equipment, poor drainage, no shade. |
