Tree Watering at Ridglea Hills Park
The City planted 27 new trees around the new playground equipment at Ridglea Hills Park. RHNA has signed a watering agreement for a three year period. The City installed two water valves on both sides of the new playground and RHNA added two additional valves closer to the trees. RHNA will provide a watering hose and 'gator' bags around each tree. All you have to do is connect the hose to the valve and add water to the gator bag once each summer. Then you deliver the hose to the next person on the list and they water the next week. Free Neighborhood Trees
Trees make a neighborhood appear friendly and mature. They cool us and our houses during the summer and protect us from bad spring weather. RHNA has noticed a lot of lots in the neighborhood that have gradually lost some of the older trees and could use new ones. The City will provide two trees to each property owner for planting in the 'Parkway' (see figure).
We had forty-four people sign up and receive trees in February 2005. If we get another twenty five people, we can put in for more trees next year.
You have to sign a watering agreement that you will water for three years. The City will deliver them but can't plant them...although they will provide guidance on proper planting technique.
