General Membership Meeting

Next General Membership meeting will be April 30 at 6pm at the new Rockfish Camp Bowie. Final agenda items TBD, but for now expect to see the following on the agenda:

1. Bylaw amendment re: authorized expenditures (see below)

2. Neighborhood garage sale update

3. Sign topper update

4. Spring Fling financials debrief

5. Updates to website/membership auto-renewal/membership tracking

6. Tax status/filings/compliance updates

Bylaw amendment is on the agenda re: Section O – Expenditures, subsection 1. which requires a meeting and majority vote for expenditures over $500. The logistics and feasibility of this section of the RHNA bylaws has been discussed by the executive board (with event planning, it’s not logistically reasonable or feasible), and we have researched past expenditures to see if we have been adhering to this bylaw (we haven’t), therefore we will be proposing an amendment at the next meeting, calling for discussion from the floor and any other proposals, and will ask for a vote for or against.

At present, our proposal is to amend the above-section to allow for expenditures of up to 10% of the Net Assets disclosed in the most recent statement of financial position without requiring a vote. All expenditures in excess of that amount will require a vote of the general membership. Statements of financial position are prepared for each quarterly meeting and reflect the Net Assets of the RHNA.
